Ziad El-Eleimi is a founding member of the Egyptian Social Democratic Party. He is also a lawyer, human rights activist, founding, and leading member of the Revolution’s Youth Coalition (RYC).

CAIRO: Prominent lawyer, activist and member of the newly-elected Egyptian parliament, Ziad al-Alimi, urged the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Defense to declare their shared responsibility in protecting demonstrators tomorrow, the first anniversary of the January 25 Revolution.
Alimi criticized the Ministry of Interior and the interim ruling military government for stating that they will not be in charge of protecting protesters in Tahrir on January 25.
He said that everyone has the right to protection, and that the state is obliged to ensure that right.
He called on both the Ministries of Defense and Interior to take charge of their duties in protecting citizen protesters, who are expected to take to the streets across Egypt in high numbers to call for the demands of the revolution to be realized.

Accusations fly between MPs and SCAF officials after liberal member of People's Assembly Ziad El-Eleimy publicly insults military council and influential Salafist sheikh Mohamed Hassan; parliament opens an inquiry.

El-Eleimi's statements about the ruling Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF) caused a row after he referenced a famous Egyptian proverb in which Tantawi was allegedly characterised as a donkey. Further stirring controversy, El-Eleimy allegedly went on to also refer to influential Salafist preacher Mohamed Hassan as a "vegetable seller," asserting also that "not everyone with a beard should be regarded as a sheikh."

Sidi Ahmed al-Badawi al-Fasi (d. 675 Higri/1260)     The second most widespread Sufi order in Egypt after the Shadhiliya order, founded by the Moroccan sharifian ShaykhSidi Abul Hassan Shadhili (d. 656/1241), is that of the Badawiya Brotherhood, founded by another Moroccan, the most popular luminary in Egyptian Sufism, the Rifaite master Sidi Ahmed Badawi al-Fasi.
